gims: 48 places for the first session of the nursing course in Gims | News from Noida

Noida: The College of Nursing of the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Greater Noida launched its first batch of BSc (Nursing) courses on Monday, with 48 students. The course gained clearance from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Uttar Pradesh in November 2021.
GIMS officials have said that the institute is the first government nursing college in Gautam Budh Nagar, which is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow.
“As of now, 48 students have been admitted to the course, while the remaining 20 places will be filled after the second cycle of counseling,” said Brigadier RK Gupta (retired), Director of GIMS.
On the first day, the new batch was welcomed by faculty members, while Dr. Dinesh Rana, Deputy Superintendent of LLRM Medical College at Meerut and State Nodal Officer for Nursing, was the chief guest of the event.
During the keynote address, nursing students were briefed on the Advanced Skills Lab, Community Health Nursing and Nutrition Lab, and Child Health Nursing Lab.
Four faculty members have been appointed to lead the nursing course at the institute.
The institute has also started classes for a new group of MBBS students from February 14 and is also expected to open a paramedic college, with an initial capacity to accept 40 students.
