A specialized care home for adults with “complex and acute needs” is to be built in Wallasey, creating more than 100 new jobs.
Located on Alfred Road, Edgewater will be the fourth home for Exemplar Health Care in the Northwest, but the first in the borough.
The £ 4.1million development will support 30 adults in need of specialist nursing care and rehabilitation following neuro-disability, brain injury, spinal cord injury or stroke, or living with a complex physical disability or mental health problem.
The house will be equipped from top to bottom to meet the needs of its new residents. Each bedroom will have an adjoining shower room.
An Exemplar Health Care spokesperson said the building will feature “spacious and high-quality common areas, a sensory and therapeutic room and landscaped gardens, for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.”
The home will also have its own in-house team of nursing specialists and a therapeutic team so adults living with complex needs can access holistic care in a community home.
Charlotte Lloyd, Director of Development at Exemplar Health Care, said: âWe are delighted to announce that we are investing in another specialty care home for the Wirral area.
“This community home will provide person-centered care and rehabilitation focused on maximizing independence, building life skills and empowering people to lead as fulfilling lives as possible.”
âIt is extremely rewarding to be able to support 30 local people with complex health needs and to provide over 100 stable and local jobs.
âIn addition to providing employment opportunities, plans are in place to help Edgewater be a part of the local community.
âOur ambition is for Edgewater to be a place where we host community events and where our residents can be a part of the community, whether through internships, local events or volunteering. ”
