The Ohio Department of Health has reported 25 new cases of COVID-19 in nursing homes in Trumbull County, according to ODH data that appears to have been updated.

Overall, the data indicates that facilities in Trumbull County have 15 patient cases and 10 staff cases.

Data from the Trumbull County ODH indicates that one facility has seen a significant increase in the number of cases this week compared to last week.

The Washington Square Healthcare Center nursing home in Warren has 11 patient cases and five staff virus cases this week. There were only two patient cases and no staff cases last week.

The director of nursing said Thursday morning that the patient’s number is correct, but there are only three staff members still positive for COVID-19.

A second facility in Trumbull County, the Community Skilled Healthcare Center Nursing Home in Warren, has two patient virus cases this week and two staff cases this week.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 cases in nursing homes across the state has increased dramatically this week.
